When the Rebbe Gave $470
On 24 Adar, 5748, as ground was being broken for Bais Rivkah’s brand new Campus Chomesh, named in honor of the Rebbetzin, the Rebbe’s car made an unexpected appearance. Rabbi Avraham Shemtov recounts that when he approached the car, the Rebbe told him, “Tonight is the Rebbetzin’s birthday. I am on my way to the Ohel where I will also stop at her resting place. Here is a donation on her and my behalf in the amount of $470, the equivalent of gematriya of her name.
